Abstract
As one of the basic components of the resistance economy, the popular economy plays an important role in achieving sustainable development and strengthening economic structures. The present study, using a systematic review and data analysis method, has examined various dimensions of the what, why, and how of the popular economy. A review of 83 selected studies from 1390 to 1403 showed that research in this field can be divided into three general categories: "governance, policy-making, and implementation", "theoretical and fundamental studies", and "empiricism and domestic and foreign patterns". The research conducted has used a variety of methods. 62 studies have used analytical-descriptive methods, 15 studies have used qualitative analysis such as content analysis and data-based analysis, and 6 studies have used mixed or ijtihad methods. The research was categorized in response to three key questions: "what", "why" and "how" of the popular economy: Definitions of the popular economy have been examined in terms of goals, expected results, processes, opposites and indicators. In the axis of "why" and "basis" of the popular economy, the reasons for accepting the popular economy have been addressed. Islamic economy, resistance economy, the perspective of leaders and the constitution, conventional and unconventional economy, and domestic and foreign experiences were among the main reasons. In the axis of "how", the contextual and structural requirements for the realization of the popular economy and the implementation strategies were examined.
