Abstract

The position of ideology in economics and the relationship between positive and normative economics has always been one of the fundamental questions in the methodology of economics, and various answers have been given to it. Some do not consider economics as anything other than a modern theology, while others believe that the sanctity of economics is devoid of the entry of irrefutable ideology. However, many intellectual currents consider economic thought as part of the history of economic analysis. However, the fundamental question is how economic issues can be seen as an analytical question for a divine scholar. This study seeks to demonstrate, through a case study, the realistic economic ideas of pragmatic thinkers, how theology and, in particular, the theory of divine happiness can transform economic issues into analytical questions for these divine scholars. The results of this research show that the introduction of the theory of dual happiness of humans and, in particular, the concept of incomplete happiness alongside complete happiness, has created the main basis for their attention to economic issues. Therefore, economics has been of interest to scholars both in terms of virtuous material necessities and as a scene for moral judgment, as well as its connection to many human virtues.
